Shift Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight: Direct the day-to-day operations of the gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, and auxiliary plant systems from the Central Control Room (CCR) or field.

• Safety & Compliance: Enforce site-wide safety protocols, including isolation/tag-out procedures (LOTO), permit-to-work systems, and emergency response coordination.

• Team Leadership: Supervise plant operators and junior engineers, ensuring shift handovers are thorough and team productivity is maximized.

• Performance Monitoring: Monitor key plant metrics (e.g., heat rate, output, emissions) and initiate corrective actions if deviations occur.

• Incident Management: Act as the Incident Commander during equipment failures, fire incidents, or grid-related emergencies; execute startup/shutdown procedures according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Regulatory Liaison: Ensure all activities remain within the constraints of the plant’s environmental permits and regulatory reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Degree in Engineering or equivalent vocational/technical certification in power plant operations with experience in power plant operations

• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of combined-cycle power plant processes, including gas turbine operation, steam systems, water chemistry, and electrical distribution.

• System Knowledge: Experience operating a Distributed Control System (DCS) (e.g., Mark VIe, Ovation, or similar).

• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, critical decision-making under pressure, and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the commissioning and startup phase of a new power plant project.

Demonstrated history of successful troubleshooting in high-stakes operational environments
