Senior Data Scientist (Telecommunications) — 100% Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and vision-driven Senior Data Scientist for a 100% Remote position to lead the development of advanced predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and personalization engines tailored for our telecommunications ecosystem. In this role, you will analyze massive telecom datasets to drive key business outcomes, including churn mitigation, customer lifetime value (CLV) optimization, offer/bundle recommendations, network analytics, and next-generation Generative AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Predictive Modeling & ML Development: Architect, build, evaluate, and deploy end-to-end machine learning models (e.g., churn prediction, recommendation systems, propensity modeling, price elasticity, and customer segmentation).

• Generative & Agentic AI Solutions: Explore, prototype, and implement Generative AI and agentic AI workflows to enhance customer analytics, decision automation, and data science operational efficiency.

• Data Extraction & Manipulation: Write highly optimized SQL queries and data pipelines across enterprise data warehouses (primarily Teradata) and cloud analytics platforms.

• Personalization & Recommendation Logic: Design algorithm logic to recommend eligible products/bundles based on usage patterns, business rules, and ranking metrics

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Commercial, Marketing, Data Engineering, and BI teams to translate strategic business questions into data science solutions and actionable recommendations.

• MLOps & Governance: Establish best practices for model validation, feature store management, experiment tracking and continuous performance monitoring in production.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning in production environments.

• Telecommunications Industry Experience: Strongly Preferred. Proven understanding of telecom domain concepts (e.g., ARPU, subscriber lifecycle, churn dynamics, network usage, prepaid/postpaid offer bundles).

• Remote Work Capability: Demonstrated success working effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous, cross-functional environment.

Technical Skills

• Generative AI & Agentic AI: Hands-on experience or working knowledge of Generative AI (LLMs, RAG frameworks, prompt engineering) and Agentic AI systems/autonomous agents is a big plus.

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)—including BigQuery, Dataproc / Managed Spark clusters, and GCS—is strongly preferred.

• Data Science Platforms: Experience with Dataiku DSS (Data Science Studio) is strongly preferred for pipeline building, model deployment, and collaborative data science.

• Database & Querying: High proficiency in complex SQL development and optimization within Teradata environments (partitioning, indexing, volatile tables, analytical functions).

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, XGBoost/LightGBM, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and/or R.

• Data Visualization & Storytelling: Ability to present complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to non-technical executive stakeholders.
